Following the death of the great Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, who passed away January 22 at the age of 95, a number of Buddhist teachers, thinkers, centers, and organizations took to social media to offer tribute to the beloved teacher.

Nhat Hanh died in his home country of Vietnam at Tu Hieu Temple in the city of Hue. Known as “the father of mindfulness,” Nhat Hanh made a global impact as a teacher, author, activist, and founder of the Engaged Buddhism movement. Memorial services are being livestreamed by his practice community, Plum Village in the days to come.

Here, we’ve rounded up a selection of tributes shared by Buddhist teachers, centers, and organizations responding to news of his death. Plum Village is also sharing tribute posts and articles about Nhat Hanh’s death on their live blog.
